Get Involved

If you heart has broken for the children of the Tegucigalpa Garbage Dump and you would like to get more involved, there are several options suited to your needs:

(1)  Visit: Please make an appointment to visit AFE or the garbage dump.

(2)  Volunteer: AFE has several different volunteer programs to suit your time commitment and needs. To be considered for a position, volunteers must be over 18 and speak Spanish.

(3)  Serve: AFE receives over 20 work teams every year, who complete such projects as building houses for the homeless, serving the medical needs of the garbage dump community, and organizing vacation bible school for the children.

(4)  Give:  Get involved with AFE without leaving your home! AFE offers a child sponsorship program which allows donors to encourage and uplift their sponsor child through email.
